About Nurrow
I'm Aaron Wakely, and I built Nurrow. It's not a venture-backed startup or a team of ten — it's me, building the focus app I wanted to exist. I've struggled with staying on task the same way a lot of Nurrow's users have, and the usual fixes (harsh blockers, guilt-based streaks, apps that feel like homework) never stuck for long. Nurrow is my attempt at something that does: short, honest sessions with a reward that's actually fun to look forward to.
Why a pet, why now
The pet-collection idea came from noticing how much more I finished a session when there was something small and specific to look forward to at the end, not just a checkmark. Everything in Nurrow, from the timer modes to the egg-and-shard economy, is built around that same idea: make finishing the session feel worth it on its own.
What Nurrow is (and isn't)
Nurrow is a focus timer and website blocker with a collection game layered on top. It's built from personal experience with distraction and procrastination, not clinical research, and it isn't a medical or diagnostic tool. If you're looking for treatment or a diagnosis, talk to a professional — Nurrow is a practical tool for a specific problem: sitting down and staying with something for a while.
